Your Perfect Pokémon Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution Based on Your Zodiac Sign
This return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked widespread excitement across the fandom. From the gradual reveal of fresh additions before the game's release, to players forming firm views on the entire roster of new Megas, there's a lot for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given many of the Mega Evolutions showcasing unique appearances that emphasize their traits, one thought naturally: What's the best way to link this with astrology? This list is based on a blend of vibes, sign stereotypes, and individual observations.
The Ram – Mega Camerupt
Honestly, Houndoom was almost selected for Aries, as they are the Super Form and astrological sign that evoke the most fear. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as always furious, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, known for being playful, cheerful, and impulsive. This makes the Ram far more akin to Mega Camerupt, which only spews lava when angered. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a powerful ally; should you offend them, be ready to face the consequences.
Taurus – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its regular and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. Though dependable, both the creature and a Bull are also battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their position to the end. What about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Bull-sign companions, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Several previous Pokédex entries mention their fondness for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it all, which is pure Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Observe this total queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the life of every party, providing an endless stream of gossip to anyone who wish to hear. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's very easy to imagine Mega Medicham mesmerizing an whole open area with their tales. Medicham’s Pokédex entry also states its ability to predict an opponent's future actions, which sounds quite similar to a socially-savvy Twins.
Cancer – Mega Manectric
The Crab is commonly considered as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate symbol famous for frequently getting wrapped up in their emotions. According to the Pokédex, Mega Evolution charges the Pokémon with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's excessive for Manectric to fully control,” which seems a lot like a classic Crab emotional outburst. This Pokémon is also known for its capability to create a thundercloud over its own head – and if there’s one thing a Cancer is likely to do, it’s rain on their good time.
Leo – Mega Starmie
Oh, did you think I was going to pick Pyroar for the lion of the stars? Besides the reality that it would be much too on the nose, Leo is clearly Super Starmie, the star whose gams just became an internet sensation for being too fabulous (or horrifying, based on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the purple sea star, and that’s exactly the identical vibe a Lion brings to the scene. This Pokémon is also said to be broadcasting signals from its red core out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be putting on a show, even if for aliens.
The Maiden – Mega Victreebel
The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly encapsulated in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual acid reflux. The zodiac symbol famous for being endearingly critical is strongly reflected across this creature's whole lineage, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you lack a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s similar to the symbol a Virgo posts to the group chat when all says they want to “go with the flow” instead of creating a strategy.
Libra – Super Audino
Observe this sweet, sensitive creature, who employs the sensors on its ears to tell how others are emotionally by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a fault – and striving to keep the harmony, there are numerous Scales who would probably benefit from Mega Audino’s skills. However, to be frank, it would likely just make them worry more about others.
Scorpio – Super Banette
This Ghost-type is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly tragic origin: Discarded as a doll, it became consciousness through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems precisely like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpio acquaintances. A Scorpio adores karma and comeuppance, making them the perfect match with Mega Banette.
Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha
Both Mega Hawlucha and Sagittarians are always putting on a show. As a Archer myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “playful little entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most attention-seeking Mega Evolution, its Pokédex entry even mentions how it “poses to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most fitting Archer counterpart I can imagine.
Capricorn – Super Absol
Were you aware that a Mega Absol has the power to predict calamities in advance? That exudes the exact same vibe as a Goat, who often consistently believe they’re right. Interestingly, similar to a prophetic Mega Absol, they frequently are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that trainers encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
Aquarius – Mega Chandelure
Detached element Water Bearer is possibly the non-flame placement that is closest to a flame symbol – its counterpart is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about the Archer and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Super Chandelure's double Ghost/Fire typing fits perfectly with this, and the Mega’s overall intimidating presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s description says it “absorbs negative energy and converts it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
