Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in an LA Vehicle Accident
Vince Zampella, the mind behind the immensely successful first-person shooter Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.
His passing was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio he co-founded.
The renowned game designer died after his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, US media outlets report.
"This is a devastating loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's family, his loved ones, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
