Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' sole on the road victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at home. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
