Liverpool's Star Offers Regret to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the fallout from his televised remarks.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a key Champions League match subsequent to criticising the club and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
Arne Slot has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Positive Results
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were not designed to cause disruption.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and on a positive run.”
