Lawmakers Release Newest Set of Epstein Images as Justice Department Cut-off Date Nears
Investigative Body
The House investigative committee has published a batch of roughly 70 images secured from the holdings of deceased adjudicated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
This marks the latest in a series of publication from a tranche of over 95,000 photographs the panel has acquired from Epstein's estate. It features images of quotes from the literary work Lolita scrawled across a woman's body, and redacted photos of female overseas passports.
This release occurs just hours before the 19th of December cut-off for the Justice Department to make public all records connected to its investigation into Epstein.
"These new photographs raise additional questions about what exactly the Justice Department has in its possession," remarked the senior Democrat of the panel, Robert Garcia.
Contents in the Photographs Released
Some of the photos published on recently depict Epstein speaking with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a private plane; Bill Gates seen next to a individual whose features is censored; Steve Bannon sitting at a desk facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.
Investigative Body
These are the latest high-net-worth, powerful men to be photographed in Epstein's estate images published by the oversight panel - formerly published pictures also depict US President Donald Trump and ex-president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, ex- US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, counsel Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and additional individuals.
Appearing in the photos is not evidence of any illegal activity, and many of the photographed individuals have asserted they were never participating in Epstein's unlawful actions.
In a announcement issued alongside the photograph disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate's representatives did not supply explanatory details or timings for the photographs.
"Photographs were chosen to furnish the public with transparency into a illustrative selection of the photos received from the property, and to offer perspectives into Epstein's network and his extremely troubling behavior," the release says.
Committee
The disclosure also features a number of photographs of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita written in ink across different parts of a female's body, including her torso, feet, hip, and back. Lolita narrates the account of a minor who was groomed by a adult literature professor.
An example of a quote from the novel written across a woman's upper body says, "Lolita: the tip of the tongue traveling of three steps down the mouth to tap, at three, on the teeth".
There are also a number of images of women's travel documents and official papers from states worldwide, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Oversight Panel
The majority of the details on the IDs, like identities and DOBs, is redacted but the House Oversight Committee indicated in a announcement that the travel documents belong to "females whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were interacting with".
An additional image depicts Epstein positioned at a table closely in the company of three individuals whose features have been obscured - one individual has her hand on Epstein's torso under his garment, and another is crouching to examine a adjacent device. Epstein seems to be helping the final person attach a wristband.

Another image released is a screenshot of text messages from an unidentified person who claims they have been provided "several females" and are demanding "$$1,000 for each individual".
Photo Publication Occurs Prior to DOJ Deadline
The committee has thousands of photos in its possession from the Epstein estate, which are "both disturbing and ordinary," its announcement on recently noted.
The Congressional committee first legally compelled the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York prison in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on accusations of human trafficking, in August.
The photos and files the Epstein property submitted to the committee are different than what is largely called "the Epstein documents". That material are documents under the justice department's possession related to its separate investigation into Epstein.
In accordance with the recently passed law, which Donald Trump signed into law recently, the DOJ has until the date of 19 December to publish its files. The scope of what is included in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's expected that a significant portion of the content will be significantly redacted, akin to Congressional materials
