Jurgen Klopp admits coming back to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

The German coach, who departed from Anfield in 2024, indicated that a future comeback is an option. Klopp, post a game-changing near-decade reign which brought a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance for the DFL.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the Premier League in the previous campaign, yet numerous supporters who revere Klopp would welcome the idea that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he told Steven Bartlett: “I said I refuse to lead any other side in England. So that means should it be the Reds...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“Being 58, so I could make the decision later on, I don’t know. Must I choose now? If so, I wouldn't return. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Pressed on what circumstances must arise to tempt his return to the dugout, Klopp admitted he isn't eager to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing in the rain for lengthy sessions; I don’t miss going to media briefings four times, three times a week or constant media duties weekly.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad enjoying conversation, is pleasant. Success was frequent so there was often a very good mood around the place. I can still hear the captain's chuckle ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

Klopp was full of praise regarding Arne Slot, praising him for the adjustments that took the title last campaign. They've been defeated four in a row in all competitions following significant transfers, though he denied the notion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. A remarkable prospect. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. They have a strong balanced team. No need for concern regarding the Reds, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally about the death of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in while in charge, along with the consequences at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a car crash alongside his brother this past summer.

“Who can fill the void of a person like him? It’s not about his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the team environment without him in it. I still cannot speak properly about it. A devastating blow for his teammates as well. Not a single person would cite it to justify results but it is the situation. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Handling this individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
