Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a former doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
The Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
