Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who featured in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles recently following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
